South Carolina is the best place in the country the live, work, and raise a family. Here are a few of the major issues that I’m leading the charge on at the State House.
Protecting Natural Areas
Conserving our natural beauty is an important responsibility for our state’s elected officials. I’m proud to fight for dedicated funding to preserve the areas that make our state so beautiful.
Jobs and Economy
South Carolina’s economy is strong and thriving. We must work to provide the jobs of the future and the education to match. That means getting government out of the way of our job creators and cutting red tape so our small businesses can expand.
Education
I’m committed to a stronger education system: from early childhood through our colleges and universities. We’ve raised teacher pay 70% since I started on Ways and Means, we’ve frozen college tuition, and made our schools safer.
Fiscal Responsibility
A balanced budget, fiscal responsibility, and lower taxes are vital to a strong state. We’ve delivered on all three. We’ve been able to cut taxes, invest in infrastructure and education, and still fund critical local projects throughout our state.
Public Safety
We need strong, robust policing and well-trained first responders to keep us safe. I’m always willing to talk with our public safety officers to learn what they need to do their jobs and protect our communities.
Infrastructure
Quality, safe roads and bridges are critical for our state. We’ve allocated hundreds of millions of dollars to make them safer for you. Infrastructure goes beyond roads, and we’ve made major investments in water, sewer, and broadband access.
